Date: 02/04/07 Me asleep in bed.
Date: 02/04/07 Bucket-watering the garden due to severe Level 5 water restrictions.
Date: 02/04/07 Checking my emails.
Date: 02/04/07 Note all the spam, grrr! Fake pills indeed.
Date: 02/04/07 making a cuppa for hubby and I, using my new Archibalds orange mug (All I can say is a lot of Art teachers have a lot to answer for).
Date: 02/04/07 Bringing my mother a cup of coffee in bed, after the passing of my Dad 3 years ago, she is enjoying being with my family, and sharing special times together, even if she has to travel 700 kms south to see us. We have just been to visit Sydney, her birthplace, and together we went to see the Archibald Exhibition, and then travel onto the Hunter Valley where she visited wineries for the first time ever. It was lovely to take her for tastings and to show her a different way of life, with the grapes and beautiful wineries and food. A fresh cup of coffee in bed is an added treat!
Date: 02/04/07 It's a flick through the paper ...
Date: 02/04/07 ... a quick comb of my hair ...
Date: 02/04/07 and then it's time to crank up my cam, which I have had online for the past 6 years. Although I have no lipstick on (gasp!) and my shirt is in need of a good ironing, I am aware that a lot of my dedicated and lobyal Pattycam Watchers will be keen to see me again, and I am equally keen to catchup on the gossip and news of their lives. It's a special place we can share and be ourselves, and I love my site.
Date: 02/04/07 Firstly though, there are links to refresh, and add on, to be topical and timely, and today there is a tsunami warning for Cooktown. My heart is beating extra fast, as Cooktown is a special place to me, my first visit when I was just 16.
Date: 02/04/07 A tsnumami warning and friends catching up on chat, as I refresh and load my website consumes my early morning.
Date: 02/04/07 Breakfast with Mum, as I light my candle. I always light this candle when I either eat, or have friends over, I like to think that our conversations and thoughts are trapped in the wax, preserved.
Date: 02/04/07 How to give a cat a tablet...
Date: 02/04/07 If you ever find out, let me know! My son's cat has an allergy to the kangaroo meat we have been feeding him, but for the next 7 days we have to give him a tablet to help him overcome this allergy. Right.
Date: 02/04/07 My eldest sister arrives to see Mum, a bottle of champers is opened to celebrate ...
Date: 02/04/07 and once again my candle is lit.
Date: 02/04/07 Then the washing machine beckons, there is always the housework, drats!
Date: 02/04/07 11.30am and here I am cleaning my toilet with a toothbrush, *rolls eyes, the things I do!
Date: 02/04/07 Working on my mother's holiday DVD so she can take it back home 700kms away, adding music and a few effects for interest. I love my computer, music, and I love my photography, so combining all of these brings me to create these DVD's. It's a great memory to share with my sister when Mum gets home, and it will bring many hours of happy memories recalling our special trip together.
Date: 02/04/07 The candle is lit for the 3rd time today, for lunch. It may be a strange ritual, but it's MY ritual, and I like it.
Date: 02/04/07 Then it's time to make a quiche for lunch, perhaps some fresh mushrooms and onions and garlic, with fresh peas and a cheesy topping, yum.
Date: 02/04/07 A chat in the garden with Mum as we wait, and wait, for the quiche to cook. With Level 5 water restrictions, the poor garden is suffering, and I have lost many plants, but, equally, I have planted more to try and adapt to a "drier garden". Talk about an optimist!
Date: 02/04/07 Peering into the oven to check if the quiche is ready, then voila....lunch is served, with a small garden salad. Normally I don't have champagne for lunch, but today is special as Mum is here, and that's my excuse! Lol. I also know that it will help her sleep this afternoon, and that's all good. Cheers!
Date: 02/04/07 Time to empty the scraps into the compost bin, my eldest son earlier today added more leaf and scraps, and the compost is gorgeous - just goes to show that households can and should recycle wherever possible. Later the compost will be added to our vegie garden, pumpikns, zicchinnis and tomatoes.
Date: 02/04/07 Checking the net for more warnings on the tsnumami, which turns out to be a fizzer, at least on the east coast of Australia.
Date: 02/04/07 Waving to my Pattycam Watchers, the internet today seems very slow, so I just leave a 'nice pic' up on the site instead of having my fingers crossed the latest image uploads. It also frees my time up so that I can complete my washing load, and sort out my home, after being away for a week travelling. My site has been online now for over 6 years, and daily I converse with people from all over the world, eg, Usa, New Zealand, England, Ireland, and Canada, as well as most of the main states in Australia. Some people are retired and exploring the world of the internet, others are housebound through illness or injury, others run a small business and chat in between customers. I have met a lot of my Watchers, and they have all become good mates, via the net. We share our lives, and at times, our deepest dreams. Sometimes we simply live our busy lives and only manage to wave and strike a friendly punch-in-the-arm, the way of siblings and mates. We console each other over the impending death of a beloved pet, we help each other with technical computer things, we email or chat when it suits us. It has become a living, breathing, real community. As I write this, someone privately chats to me and tells me that she has at last updated her Blog. I nagged her to do so this morning, the whole beauty of the net is that it is updated and fresh content daily. I am so proud that she has taken the time to do so. An American now living in Australia, she blogs her world to keep her own family up-to-date on her new life Down Under. I am a good nag. Lol.
Date: 02/04/07 Photographing my mate Paul's old dog on his webcam, in 2 days time, he has the heavy duty of taking her to the vet, for the last time.
Date: 02/04/07 Clearing up the dead golden cane fronds.
Date: 02/04/07 Giving my eldest son's kitten a cuddle.
Date: 02/04/07 Then it's checking on the drying, and noting with dismay that my hubby's business shirt has twisted over and over in the dryer. That will take a lot of ironing to remove those creases.
Date: 02/04/07 My son is finally home from uni, where he is studying to be a Pilot. It's his first year, and by the looks of his math and phyics, big assignments are due. Next week he can relax with his mates at the beach, but for now, it's study! Study! Study!
Date: 02/04/07 Time to catch a snatch of the news with my darling Mum - the tsnunarmi that never was.
Date: 02/04/07 Dinnertime finally, and I am still waiting for my hubby to arrive home after a 12 hour day. All good, and I am hungry!
