I’m not a morning person. I’ve never been one. The world seems very black and white in the morning and I’m usually half-asleep until I’ve poured my coffee.

Yes, this is how I look when I begin my day. Not pretty…but well… there it is.

This is Simon, who is usually the last one up in the morning, but today felt the need to guard the front door.

This is my partner Andrew and he’s already having his coffee on the front porch. He’s irritatingly awake and active in the morning and buzzing around doing a million things before I’ve even realized he’s there. On the flip-side, he usually burns out and needs a nap shortly after lunch time.

As I said, I’m not a fan of mornings, so I’m skipping ahead a bit to lunch which I like much more. This is the Country Club Plaza near my home in Kansas City. It’s essentially an outdoor mall, but it was the first shopping center in the world to accommodate the automobile and opened in 1922. Since I nearly always shoot so close you can never tell where I am, here is an obligatory establishing shot.

There are street performers as well as a some homeless on the Plaza. This guy sits in front of Barnes and Noble but there are multiple rumors, which I cannot confirm or deny, that the homeless make more money then some of the people in the shops.

This is my favorite statue on the Plaza. I want my own monkey.

I started taking piano lessons back in August and I have a lesson this evening, so I should probably practice now.

A clean mouth is a happy mouth. This is moments before I go to bed, read a book, and drift off to sleep. The timing of the actual sleep is perfectly proportionate to the interestingness of the current book. Not loving the current read so it’s likely going to be an early evening. Goodnight.
